Taif municipality has devised a control plan to monitor the standard of fuel stations, as well as neighboring stores, restaurants, kitchens, foodstuff retail centers and rest houses located on highways leading to Taif.
The plan has been devised for the purpose of detecting breaches in hygiene standards, in addition to reporting other violations that might harm public health.
Mohammad Al-Mukhrij, Taif’s secretary-general, has directed 10 municipalities to double their efforts, especially since they serve important locations on the Haj and Umrah roads. These branches include Reneih, Turbah, Al-Kharmah, Al-Mowaih, Bani Sa’adah, Qibaa’, Meisan, Al-Mahani, Al-Qrie’ Bani Malik and Tholm.
These instructions are in implementation of orders made by Prince Mansour bin Mite’b, minister of Municipal and Rural Affairs, and to implement municipal penalties against violators.
The control plan will cover land ports at Taif, heavily populated areas and tourist locations. Complaints and notifications will be received around the clock through the operation room, which will coordinate between the municipality and other authorities.
He said supervisory administrations and branch municipalities will follow up on animal stocks and Taif ports to prevent the smuggling of sacrificial meat, in addition to monitoring restaurants, kitchens, bakeries and other retail centers.
Al-Mukhrij said the municipality’s inspectors will conduct regular inspections on slaughterhouses and white and red meat markets to ensure they have licenses for slaughtering different kinds of animals, adding that the municipality has completed the construction of a model slaughterhouse.
