Tabuk police have arrested a five-member gang involved in a series of robberies spanning 19 houses, 16 cars and 10 shops in the city.
Stolen items include gold jewelry, electric appliances, 13 mobile devices, watches, phone credit cards and cash amounting to SR100,000.
Maj. Khalid Al-Ghabban, a spokesman for the Tabuk police, said that a special investigation squad was formed to interrogate the culprits, which resulted in their confession.
The police statement said some of the victims did not lodge an official claim with the police department concerning their stolen articles.
Maj. Gen. Al-Zahrani, Tabuk police director, said the breakthrough was achieved only because of the continued support of Tabuk’s governor.
He appealed to residents to safeguard properties, houses and cars by locking them up properly since investigations revealed that many were not properly locked when the robberies took place.
