Andreas Hergenroether, a delegate of the German Industry for Saudi Arabia and Yemen, said that 50 Saudis studying in Germany attended a two-day internship program in Hanover that ended Wednesday.
“This was the first internship program of its kind for Saudi students in Germany. The aim is to help create awareness of job opportunities available for Saudis in German companies in the Kingdom,” Hergenroether told Arab News.
Participants came from all over Germany to attend the event and to learn about the prospects offered by German firms in the Kingdom.
“German companies are very committed to the Saudization policy and would like to play an active role in the process,” Hergenroether said.
Detlev Daues, CEO of V-Line, held a presentation about his experience in establishing his company in the Kingdom. He encouraged students to work for German companies when they return to Saudi Arabia.
Talal Abdulmajid  Yusuf, deputy to the cultural attache, also attended the workshop.
The workshop was “a success and students were offered internships at a German company in the Kingdom in various fields such as mechanical, electrical and chemical engineering, finance, IT, administration and medical studies.
Hergenroether thanked the organizers of the internship program and the Saudi students who attended.
