The Royal Air Forces of Saudi Arabia and Britain wound up a joint exercise at the RAF Coningsby base in Lincolnshire on Wednesday. Chief of the Royal Air Force (RAF) Air Chief Marshal Sir Andrew Pulford and Commander of the exercise Brig. Muhammad Al-Shahrani of Royal Saudi Air Force (RSAF), Saudi Military Attaché at the Saudi Embassy in the UK Brig. Abdullah Al-Zaqhibi, and Group Capt. Johnny Stringer of RAF Coningsby were present at a concluding ceremony.
The RAF and RSAF squadrons displayed high levels of skill and battle preparedness using the latest aircraft and weaponry. They also showed their superior skills in handling electronically controlled warfare techniques at simulated virtual situations.
Sir Andrew and Al-Shahrani toured the squadrons and discussed with their commanders various aspects of their exercises.
Al-Shahrani said the joint exercise was a success and it achieved its goal especially in their coordinated efforts. He hoped that the participating officers would pass on their experience to fellow officers at home.
A dinner was hosted to mark the occasion on Wednesday, the Saudi Press Agency reported.
