JBL: Hanco tames AVK Wild Boys, Naghi scores double

Hanco Maintenance of Edgar Ainza defeated AVK Wild Boys 80-59 in the 2013 Orient Watch-JBL Basketball Tournament at Bin Mafouz court on Tahlia Stret, Al Andalus District here.
With an unstoppable offense all game long Hanco caught AVK Wild Boys in their off night. Jumaoas scored 23 points for Hanco and was adjudged as the Orient Watch best player of the game while Baniel led AVK Wild Boys with 18 points.
The tournament major sponsor is Orient Watch-Al Hussaini and Al Yahya Investment Group (Othman Al Hussaini). Giordano Fashions (Ahmedullah), ABS-CBN — The Filipino Channel, Flash Cargo (Arnold Dela Cruz), Saudi Signs (Sam Adora), Al Haddaf Sportswear (Mohamed Bayoumi) and Arab News are co-sponsors.

Al Naghi of Regie Santos beat Hyundai Genesis 73-61. Naghi played true to form to score back-to-back wins. Hyundai Genesis fought hard but lost steam in the final quarter. Nanding Unas spearheaded l Naghi with 29 points and was adjudged as the Giordano best player of the game while Adrian Bulacan top-scored with 13 points for Hyundai Genesis.

MTTS, coached by Jameel del Rosario, defeated Diet Center 69-51. In winning its second game in four outings MTTS came prepared and avoided an endgame collapse that hounded the team in the past games. Veteran Reden Dela Cruz connected his three in the dying minutes. Leonor had 18 points for MTTS and was adjudged as the JBL best player of the game while Sumagang and JC each scored 11 points for Diet Center.

Friday, Al Naghi again prevailed over United Naghi 60-51 to complete a weekend double. Naghi showed heart in the dying seconds as United Naghi continued to execute tits offense well in the fourth quarter. Armentia scored 15 points for Al Naghi and was adjudged as the Saudi Sign best player of the game while Recayo led Naghi with 16 points.
Hyundai Centennial of Dennis Elmenzo defeated Jaguar 99-69. Hyundai Centennial’s offense was fluid. Jaguar, a new team on the block, tried hard to contain the enemy offensive. Sarip scored 19 points for Centennial and was adjudged as the JBL best player of the game.
Fuddruckers of Elmer Delos Santos escaped with a 74-70 victory in a thrilling game against Chilli’s. Chilli’s was ahead up to the midway of the final quarter. Fuddruckers used man-to-man defense to force Chillis into crucial turnovers. Makagila scored a career-high 27 points for Fuddruckers and was adjudged as the JBL best player of the game.
Carrefour of Edilym Dalagan beat Almabani 65-57.
