Four hurt in GASCO fire

A fire broke out at the National Gas and Industrial Company (GASCO) in Dammam at 12:39 p.m. on Wednesday. Five firefighting teams were called to put out the fire.
Col. Ali Al- Qahtani, a spokesman for the Civil Defense, said that they were notified of a fire at the GASCO branch in Dammam. “The fire, with flames leaping up to 25 meters, had broken out in the second hall. We controlled the fire with the help of five teams of firefighters,” he said.
Al-Qahtani said that they were able to effectively contain the fire because they found the source of the gas leak immediately. However, four workers were injured and are currently undergoing treatment, he added. Investigations are under way to determine the cause of the fire.
