Saudi officials and businessmen expressed their joy and feelings of pride at the status of the Kingdom today, on the occasion of the 83rd anniversary of the Saudi National Day.
Abdul Aziz Hanafi, chief of the Qur’an Memorizing Society in Jeddah, told Arab News that Saudi Arabia is currently witnessing a period of great prosperity under the leadership of Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah and his rightly guided government.
“The National Day is a great day for all of us,” he said. “Since the establishment of the Kingdom, our country has made many big strides in modernization. We are still witnessing a great boom and development in urbanization and social mobility. Our economy is very robust.”
He added: “During that time we have been enjoying the fruits of stability and security, two basic preconditions for any meaningful development. We have built some of the most modern airports in the world. Rarely do you find people like the Saudis, who enjoy social harmony and economic prosperity within a peaceful society. This is a truly outstanding achievement, made possible by the inspiring leadership of our beloved king.”
Mazin Batterjee, assistant to the chairman of the board of Jeddah Chamber of Commerce and Industry and businessman, said that the Saudi National Day is a historic and human saga that began with the founder, the late King Abdul Aziz Al-Saud. He was able to unite the people and bring them closer even before physically uniting the country under one flag.”
Adnan Mandourah, secretary-general of Jeddah Chamber of Commerce and Industry, congratulated the king and the Saudi people for the gift of security and stability enjoyed by all. “This is a great occasion, and I wish everybody a happy anniversary. I ask Allah to make this boon permanent and keep us all safe and under one stable roof, so that we can continue to achieve prosperity and maintain our pride,” he said.
