Detecon: A trusted name in ICT services

Detecon Al-Saudia (Detasad), a major player in Saudi market, has emerged as the top-notch telecom turnkey services company.
It has strongly positioned itself as a focused telecommunication network solution provider offering a wide range of ICT services.
“This strength has led Detasad to be awarded with contracts from giant players in the Kingdom such as Saudi Telecom Co. (STC), Saudi Arabian Monetary Agency (SAMA), Saudi Arabian Airlines (Saudia) and Saudi Aramco,” said Dirk Doerrschuck, Detasad’s president and CEO.
Doerrschuck, while extending his greetings on the occasion of German Unification Day, said: “The timely delivery of projects, the best possible performance and the ability to deliver world-class services have been accorded with the highest priority by the company to ensure utmost client satisfaction.”
Detasad has set a benchmark in telecommunication and ICT infrastructure services in the Kingdom, said Doerrschuck, who himself is an experienced IT professional.
With the reputation built on the long-term contracts, Detasad operated and maintained major telecom networks and projects implemented by the Ministry of Post, Telephone and Telegraph (MoPTT, today Saudi Telecom), he said.
Detasad, a joint venture between Saudi FAL Holdings and German Detecon International Consulting, is as well a CITC-licensed VSAT service provider. It has now gained a leading position in the Saudi market.
Asked about new product and service offer innovations, he said: “We are already looking onto cloud computing service offerings in Saudi Arabia for some time and also signed contracts with customers. This is still a new topic in the Kingdom and major telecom operators are now participating in cloud computing service offerings.”
Doerrschuck said Detasad was also planning to engage in exhibitions related to cloud computing.
He said the company was not limiting itself to Saudi Arabia. “We can offer our valuable services across GCC counties,” he quipped.
Known as Detasad, Detecon’s business focus is providing managed telecommunication and ICT infrastructure services including a full-fledged operation and maintenance service portfolio for optical fiber, copper, microwave, satellite, GSM and data networks.
With the solid experience of 30 years, Detasad has set a standard when it comes to managing telecommunication infrastructure.
Featuring a workforce of more than 1,500 highly-skilled employees, who are distributed over 30 technical support centers, Detasad is able to provide a unique service delivery to its customers in Saudi Arabia.
The scope of this delivery covers the full range from quality engineering, fast spare part logistics plus rolling out complete telecommunication infrastructures.
Since the end of 2004, Detasad operates as a fully VSAT service provider licensed by CITC in Saudi Arabia.
Detasad operates a fast growing VSAT network of 3.800+ concurrent satellite remotes from their VSAT HUBs in Saudi Arabia and it is the first company to provide satellite services on geo-redundant VSAT HUBs operated out of a Tier III+ certified datacenter facility for highest availability.
Detasad’s datacenter is the first one in Saudi Arabia as well as the Middle East region to be awarded with the prestigious German TUVIT “Trusted Site Infrastructure Level3 Extended” certificate, which was originally awarded in 2011 and recently recertified until 2015.
“We are already in the green Saudization category,” said Dirk Doerrschuck the Detasad CEO, adding that the company has in place an internal training program for Saudi nationals.
“We are also planning to establish an internal telecommunication academy in cooperation with the Technical Trainers College (TTC) in Riyadh. Our goal is to further support practical training and education of young Saudi professionals,” he said.
With a kingdom-wide presence, operating over the past three decades, Detasad has completed more than 50 turnkey, consultancy, operation & maintenance and managed service contracts with satisfied clients such as STC., Mobily, Zain KSA, Saudi Aramco, Saudia, the Communications and Information Technology Commission (CITC), the Ministry of Interior — Border Guard, the Ministry of Culture and Information, the Saudi Food and Drug Authority (SFDA).
