Ahmed Fathaldin: from medicine to comedy

Ahmed Fathaldin is a Saudi comedian and actor who acts in one of Saudi YouTube’s leading comedy shows “3al6ayer,” Arabic for “On the Fly.’ The satirical show is inspired by daily events and news published in the media, echoing the style of the hugely popular American ‘The Daily Show.’
Fathaldin is a medical student who took up comedy as a hobby. It all started from his college’s theater with his friends. They played their own comedian play that they wrote. The comedian then moved to the YouTube world after he joined his brother Anmar who is also a comedian.
The medical student finds it hard to make time with his busy school schedule, but he canceled his free time and works on his comedy whenever he is off duty. His friends from YouTube and school aid him by helping him write scripts or with his homework.
He hosted a 30-day TV show on Alresalah channel called “taghreeda,” Arabic for “Tweet.” He interviewed people from social media and especially Twitter.
Fathaldin’s role of Hadi Abdulhalimmade made him famous. As a mean news specialist he talks about social issues with no boundaries.
Fathaldin has over 175,500 followers on Twitter, and his YouTube channel, also entitled “3al6ayer,” has more than 802,000 subscriptions and more than 60,779,000 views and counting.
