The Philippine mission in the Saudi capital sent its Embassy on Wheels (EOW) to Buraidah in Qassim, rendering various consular services to 487 Filipinos.
“On behalf of Ambassador Ezzedin H. Tago, we thank the Filipino community for helping the EOW make the consular outreach program a success,” said Vice Consul Redentor D. Genotiva, who headed the EOW team.
He also thanked the management of the Philippine International School in Buraidah through its principal, Edizon Mendoza, for the assistance extended to them. The consular program was the second in Buraidah and the 26th to be held during the current year.
The team renewed 431 passports, extended 10, rendered 27 notarial services and registered 19 births. Filipino community leaders also thanked the Philippine Embassy for rendering consular services in the region.
“It is of big help. The service was orderly and in accordance with the scheduled appointments,” said Dionisio Tabuco Jr., an engineer at a pharmaceutical firm and president of the Alliance of Filipino Workers in Qassim (SAMPIGA).
The group also provided free sandwiches and water to OFWs seeking consular services.
The Organization of Filipino Workers (KAMPI), headed by Joaquin de la Pena, also helped during the outreach program.
The number of OFWs in the region is estimated at 70,000.
