Jeddah police have arrested five Indonesians involved in cases of theft in the city while attempting to leave the Kingdom.
“Five Indonesians, who had run away from their sponsors, were operating a syndicate to break into houses when tenants were away,” said Lt. Nawaf Bouq of Jeddah police on Sunday. “The gang is involved in seven different cases of burglary,” he added.
He said that the gang put stolen items such as gold and jewelry in footwear and inside other electronic items to pass through airport screening and have them sent back to their country. Al-Bouq said that Jeddah police chief Maj. Gen. Abdullah Al-Qaitani formed a team that busted the gang and repossessed the stolen items.
