Adel Radwan: The dentist comedian

Adel Radwan, a practicing Saudi dentist is also a famous standup comedian and actor on the YouTube series “Takki.”
In the show, Radwan plays the role of Abdullah, a chef and the main character’s friend.
Radwan appeared on TEDx Arabia and shared his inspiring story on he overcame a childhood stuttering condition. He recalled how he challenged himself by reciting poetry and delivering the morning speech in front of his peers at school. He gradually became better and was awarded the diamond prize for reading poetry in the Western Province.
The young actor spent most of his school years performing and participating in school plays, enjoying this hobby until he graduation from school.
Radwan relayed how studying to become a dentist preoccupied most of his time, until he spotted an ad on YouTube about a series called Takki. The ad sparked his interest and he found himself applying for a role in the series. His parents were against the idea of him acting in the show out of fear that it would jeopardize his career and patients would not take his seriously.
Radwan insisted on pursuing acting and has since videotaped four episodes of Takki. The show gained over 5 million views and reawakened within Radwan the desire to continuing within the field.
He continues to challenge himself to make time for two of his passions, dentistry and acting.
Radwan explains he is constantly learning how to be an individual with two different professions.
The young Saudi actor has almost 66,832 followers on Twitter, and his YouTube channel also entitled “Takki,” has more than 414,310 subscriptions and around 28,190,779 views.
