The General Organization for Social Insurance (GOSI) now covers 8.5 million workers, compared to 2 million 10 years ago. The workers are employed at over 400,000 companies, compared to 50,000 a decade ago, the organization revealed during a workshop at the Riyadh Chamber of Commerce and Industry (RCCI) to showcase its new electronic services. The GOSI handles 36 million transactions for employers, it said.
Mansour bin Abdullah Alshathri, a GOSI board member and head of the RCCI's human resources committee, said in his opening speech that the workshop would focus on identifying changes and developments in the job market.
Several businesspeople and human resource officials from private companies attended the workshop.
Two GOSI officials, Satam Al-Harbi, the general manager of its follow-up department, and Bader Al-Dhakheel, the general manager of its support systems department, made presentations on the organization's systems and processes.
The presentations included detailed information on GOSI's electronic services, with further deliberations on the issue of fake Saudization.
