Mehran to meet NAB in Power Zone Super Cup final

RIYADH: Mehran Cricket Club will take on NAB in the final of the Power Zone Super Cup Twenty20 cricket tournament organized by the Riyadh Cricket League. In the Premier Cup, Kashmir Press and Riyadh Blues will clash in the final. In the Super Cup semifinals, Mehran got the better of Pakhtoon Khawah by 3 wickets while NAB routed Ever Green by 8 wickets.
The highlights of the semifinals were impressive batting performances by Khalid, Rizwan and Khawar while Zahid and Nazir impressed with their bowling.
In the first semis, Pakhtoon Khawah put up a total of 142 runs. Khalid played a sensible inning of 50 runs, he was supported by Altaf’s 31 runs. Asad Khan and Ibrahim bowled well and claimed 2 wickets.
In reply Mehran achieved their target after 17 overs. Fahim Shah provided a solid opening start and made 35 runs. He was supported by Alam Khan’s 39 while Raja Ejaz got 18 runs. Waheed, Khalid and Farhad bowled well and took 2 wickets each.
Man of the match: Alam Khan.
In the second semifinal, Ever Green set NAB a target of 164 runs. Rizwan provided a good opening start with a solid 65 runs. Khawar Zafar followed it up with a valuable 68 runs. Malik Nazir claimed 3 wickets while Basharat Ali, Imran Khan and Aseer took 2 wickets each for the bowling side.
In reply NAB achieved the total off 17.4 overs. Hashim (56), Usman Butt (47) and Basharat Shah (48) led their team to victory. Mudassar was the only bowler who took 1 wicket.
Man of the Match: Basharat Ali Shah.
In the Premier Cup semifinal, Kashmir Press made first use of the track and put on board 161 runs. Sheeb (33) and Zafar (19) provided good opening stand of 40 runs. In the middle order Nazar propped it up with 24 runs. At No. 9 Imran’s 34 enabled Kashmir Press put up a fighting total. Kamran took 3 wickets and Ashraf got 2.
In reply Gujranwala failed to reach their target and fell short by 15 runs. Usman Ashraf (34) and Waqar (24) provided a good opening start of 47 runs. In the middle order Afzal gave some support and scored 25 runs. Gujranwala were bowled out for 141 runs. Zahid of Kashmir Press bowled well and took 4 wickets while Danish took 2.
