A Saudi man in his twenties, carrying a machine gun stormed into the emergency section of Haqel Hospital on Tuesday.
However, the police overpowered the man before he could cause any harm to the doctors or patients at the hospital, said Lt. Col. Khaled Al-Ghabban, spokesman of Tabuk police.
He said the man was threatening the doctors and other employees at the hospital telling them to take him to a psychiatrist.
“Police rushed to the hospital soon after receiving the information and arrested the man,” he added.
Al-Ghabban said the man used to visit the hospital’s clinic for mental disorders as he was suffering from psychiatric problems. Doctors have advised the police to admit him to the mental hospital in Tabuk for treatment.
