Indian Embassy warns ‘social workers’

The Indian Embassy on Monday warned “self-styled social workers” and nefarious elements against attempts to drive a wedge between the good relations that exist between the Indian expats in the Kingdom and Saudis.
“It has come to the notice of the embassy that some self-styled social workers and illegal agents are engaged in instigating stranded workers currently stationed in the embassy’s rented accommodation in Riyadh. Such elements and agents are found to be filming statements made by these workers, giving it a negative connotation and uploading them on to various social media, besides distributing to foreign NGOs with a view to propagate negative reports targeting the policies of the Kingdom,” Indian Embassy spokesman Surinder Bhagat said.
The Indian Embassy also asserted that it was fully aware of its responsibility to the 2.8 million-strong Indian community living in the Kingdom and will continue to do all that it can to help Indians in distress within the rules and regulations that a diplomatic mission in a foreign country is required to follow.
