This is with reference to the article “Palestine has other options” (May 4) by Jamal Doumani. I think that Palestinians have been given an opportunity to close their ranks and they must avail it and make good use of it. Palestinian leaders should not bother about what Israel or its allies say. I fully agree with the writer that Israel has political parties of all hues. So, Palestinians should also have the right to hold any opinion. However, the Palestinian factions should now act in tandem for their common goal i.e. Liberation.
Hamas should act responsibly, as there are chances that Israel might try to provoke Hamas to sabotage the plan of a unity government. Any irresponsible retaliation will only harm the Palestinian cause. All Palestinian factions should join hands in their struggle against the Zionist regime. They must set aside their petty differences in the greater interest of the Palestinians. I also call on the Arab world to increase their diplomatic efforts to help Palestinian in their efforts for their homeland. Media outlets and various forms of media should also be effectively used to expose the true face of Israel. The Ban, Divestment and Sanctions (BDS) movement is already gaining strength in the West particularly in Europe. Muslim countries must play their due roles to isolate Israel so as to pressure to stop its atrocities against Palestinians. — Nabeel Ahmed, Dammam
Palestinians must act wisely
