Jeddah Champions Trophy takes off on May 16

JEDDAH: The third season of Jeddah Champions Trophy hard tennis ball cricket tournament sponsored by Ford-Al Jazeerah and organized by team Azizia Decccan will kick start from 16th of May. Twenty teams will be taking part in this tourney, that will held over a period of six weeks, during which 35 matches will be played.
With the outstanding success of the second season in recent memory and the growing popularity of Jeddah Champions Trophy, the organizers had a very tough time finalizing the teams with as many as 32 teams approaching from all parts of the city to take part in the much talked about tournament.
During a committee meeting held to finalize the teams, Ali Mohammed Khan, JCT chairman and captain of host team Azizia Deccan said, “With the temperatures soaring and the holy month of Ramadan fast approaching, we had no choice but to schedule the tournament with 16 teams. But we will make sure to consider all approaching teams in the next season of JCT.”
Asked about their relationship with Ford-Al Jazeerah Vehicles, the sponsors of the tournament he replied, “We share an excellent relationship with Ford. They have always come forward in promoting sports and recreational events throughout the kingdom. They have been of great support all through the first two seasons and we look forward to them in this time as well in intensifying the spirit of the players and making JCT-3 an unbound success”. Ather Ali Shah, president of JCT, presided over the meeting.
