Riyadh Deputy Gov. Prince Turki bin Abdullah honored graduates of Kingdom Schools at its 12th graduation ceremony.
Students who completed the American diploma program were also honored.
Expressing his happiness, Kingdom Schools General Manager Dr. Nasser Almelhem said: “Students will embark on their futures while leaving behind their lifetime memories.
“They will join colleagues at prestigious universities after 12 long years of diligent work and excellence.”
Prince Alwaleed bin Talal, chairman of the Kingdom Holding Company (KHC), was awarded the Leadership Award for Green Schools by the Saudi Green Buildings Forum (SGB) in 2012.
Prince Alwaleed received this award for his support to Kingdom Schools in creating a safe and healthy environment for children, which is critical for their development.
“Kingdom Schools is the first to adapt the concept of basic sustainability elements, such as manpower, land and economy,” said Talal Ibrahim Al-Maiman, chairman of Kingdom Schools. “This important achievement brings us closer to reality and reflects Prince Alwaleed’s vision to provide only the best of what can be offered in the field of education for our future Saudi leaders.”
Kingdom Schools also participated and hosted the global “green apple day of service” campaign, held at Kingdom Schools September 2012.
In 2010, Kingdom Schools and GEMS Education, the largest private school provider in the world, announced a partnership agreement, where GEMS Education began managing the school and its educational capacity.
“We can harness the resources from the GEMS Global Network in areas like professional development and quality assurance,” said one official.
Kingdom Schools opened for business in 2000 with the goal of providing an individualized educational experience targeting the upper and middle class segments of Riyadh’s population.
Kingdom Schools operates a private group of elementary, intermediate and high schools, as well as a kindergarten for girls and boys in Riyadh.
