Sporting United wins JSC Trophy

Sporting United defeated JSC A team 2-1 in a hotly contested final of the inaugural Friendship Football Trophy conducted by Jeddah Sports Club Football Academy (JSC) here recently.
Sporting took control of the match in the first half and scored through Ahmed BaMaaroof and Jaison. After the breather, JSC A came back strongly. However, Sporting defense kept their citadel. In the dying minutes, JSC A returned a goal through an Adil Ashraf penalty. However, that was all they could do.
In a friendly match before the final, International Indian School Jeddah (IISJ), which came third in the tournament, defeated combined eleven.
United received trophy from IISJ Principal Syed Masood Ahmed. SIFF President Hifsurahman presented the trophy for the runners-up. Adil Ashraf received the trophy for the best player of the tournament from former Indian goalkeeper Victor Manhila.
Mazin Saleem was adjudged best promising player. He received trophy from T Salim (Malayalam News). Abdul Azeez (best forward), Hatim (best midfielder), Syed Usman (best defender) and Mashood (best goalkeeper) received awards from JSC acting chairman Muhammed Basheer, chief coach PR Saleem, KO Paulson (Saudi Gazette), IISJ headmaster Noufal and Nizar.
Eight teams participated in the tournament. Final was played at Ameer Majed Park grounds along the Makrona Street.
