The World Malayalee Council (WMC), which has spread out in more than 40 countries, plays a significant role in recognizing Keralite talents, skills and intelligence on a global level and mobilizes them for the enhancement of professional development and technological breakthrough, said Ed. K. Bhaskaran, its new president in Dammam.
“WMC also offers an international forum for Malayalees of different age groups to constantly communicate, share and update their knowledge base,” he said. The organization was formed on July 3, 1995 during a convention in New Jersey, US.
“WMC is a non-sectarian, non-political community organization which provides global connectivity, fostering friendship and fellowship among the Malayalees worldwide while providing several platforms for training, empowerment, service and support,” he explained.
Bhaskaran, who is divisional manager of Eram Trading & Contacting, said WMC opens up new possibilities for Keralites in their economic, political and social growth. “It also facilitates a dynamic link between the Malayalee experience, expertise and entrepreneurship in the developing and the developed countries for the invigoration of the Malayalee community at large, and the Kerala state in particular,” he added.
