Music has no boundaries and a recent cultural event in Riyadh proved it. Organized by the Deccan Cultural Association along with the Aligarh Muslim University Alumni (AMOUBA), the event featured Indian Idol 5 finalist singer Rakesh Maini.
The 27-year-old singer took his fans through a rhythmic evening with his mesmerizing voice. Several dignitaries of various cultural and social organizations attended the event.
Maini kept the crowd entertained with his performance inspired by Indian legendary singers Mohammed Rafi, Kishore Kumar, Rahat Fateh Ali Khan, Sonu Nigam and K.K.
He kick-started his electrifying performance with “Sajda Tera Sajda” from the movie ‘My Name is Khan’ and went on to enthrall the audience with several classic and popular songs.
“The audience has been so involved in even the most delicate musical nuances. This is what boosts a singer to perform at his best,” the singer said.
The evening got even more interesting when Maini invited a few audience members on to the stage to sing and dance with him. The event also witnessed the performances of local singers, Sanjana and Syed Omar.
A.A. Shamim Khan, Chairman of the Deccan Cultural Association and Mohammed Ahmad Badsha, President of AMOUBA, welcomed the singer and the audience. Zia ur Rehman, President of the Deccan Cultural Association, presented a beautiful memento to the singer and Mirza Majeed Baig honored the star of the show with a bouquet.
Maini expressed his gratitude to the organizers for providing a valued opportunity to perform on such a big dais and he requested similar support and blessings in the future.
