National Water Company (NWC) confirmed readiness to implement the operational plan for 2014 summer season in Taif, where it began early in coordination with Saline Water Conservation Corporation (SWCC) to pump 250,000 m3 of water per day to the province of Taif to ensure the delivery of water services to residents and visitors to Taif.
This included the operational plan for providing the best services to its customers and to meet the expected demand for water.
Mohammed Khoja, director of Taif water sector, confirmed that NWC plan for this summer included processing six filling stations for water to work at maximum capacity in Al-Sarafea, A-Hawiye, Almtnah, Al-Arafa, Al-Sail Alsager, and strategic reservoir filling stations.
Also, Khoja said that all Water filling stations will provide water tankers for all customers.
A new filling station is being opened northeast of Al-Hawiye that will run this summer, in order to serve all neighborhoods and villages in its northeast region.
This is in addition to providing two water reservoirs with a capacity of 10,000 m3 for Al-Hawiye filling station for use in case of emergency, he said, noting that the company has completed the implementation of the link road line project in Masara Street to support water systems.
He added that the company has completed its work at the new environmental treatment plant, which will be ready for operation (processing trilogy) and at full capacity amounting to 80,000 m3/day during the summer, bringing the total amount of treated water in Taif to 150,000 m3 per day.
The director of Taif NWC water sector pointed that the summer plan includes 10 field teams dedicated to environmental services operating in accordance with multiple patrols around the clock, so that the follow-up work is done through the operations center in the management sector.
This is in addition to the continuous follow-up by 80-member field team of the water sector who work throughout the year to take care of maintenance and periodic detection of leaks in both main lines.
