Sony launches new wearable experiences in KSA

Modern Electronics Company Ltd. (MEC), a subsidiary of the Al Faisaliah Group and Sony, a major consumer electronics brand, announced the launch of the SmartBand in the Kingdom.
"The SmartBand is described as an innovative life logging wrist band that allows you to keep track of everything you do – your movements, your communications, your entertainment, even your sleep patterns and activity levels wherever you go and around the clock," the company stated.
The accompanying Lifelog application logs the special moments and plays them back to you on your Android smart phone or tablet through an innovative graphic display.
“The SmartBand SWR10 works with Xperia Z2 to log your life in partnership with the Lifelog application, creating an automatic 24/7 diary of your activities, entertainment and memories. Plus, with SmartBand you’ll never need to worry about losing your phone or missing a call with a series of customizable smart notifications delivered straight to your wrist,” the company added.
Sony’s new Lifelog application binds the SmartWear experience together, enabling the user to discover their past, enjoy their present and help inspire their future. "Together with SmartBand, Lifelog enables you to effortlessly capture life and entertainment — places visited, music listened to, games played, books read and presents them in a beautifully designed visual interface.
"Through the visual interface, you can understand how active you were, where you went, what pictures you took and how you have been communicating with your world. Lifelog will also help you set activity goals, monitor your progress and make recommendations to help inform future decisions."
Connection to SmartBand is effortless — a simple one-touch to pair via NFC or Bluetooth, and then sign-in using a Google Account.
At the heart of SmartBand is the Core module, a 24/7 wearable device; fully waterproof (rated IP585) despite its exposed Micro-USB port.
