It was sad to read about the killings of Pakistanis stranded in Bangladesh during a clash with local people outside a refugee camp. Riots erupted over a minor issue that resulted in the loss of lives and properties. The refugee camps are situation in the heart of Bangladesh where around half million refugees are braving pathetic living conditions. Their uncertain future is a big question mark on the conscience of the modern world.
Those poor people are patriotic Pakistanis and still wishing to reach their homeland. Unfortunately, due to political reasons successive administrations in Pakistan failed to settle this issue once and for all.
This issue is fanned during election campaigns for political gains but when it comes to practical steps, nothing materializes.
According to official reports, illegal migrants from various countries are living in Pakistan in the millions but true Pakistanis are still forced to live in refugee camps.
