Week 12 was not just another race for the top points as Orient Watch, Bowling City and Sarawat Superstores shared Team of the Week honors in a rare triple tie in the Thursday League 11th Season for Sarawat Superstores Cup at the Bowling City in Sultana Center.
All three teams finished the night on 30 points. Sarawat kept its No. 1 spot in the team standings, Bowling City likewise retained second place while Orient Watch moved into the top three for the first time dislodging erstwhile third-ranked D’ Barkads, who returned 20 points.
Habagat compiled 24.5 points ahead of D’ Barkads. D’ Engineers tallied 12.5, Bulacan Knight had 12, Fineboyz Rhinos 11 and Pindot 10 points.
Of the three teams Orient Watch, winner of the third game and overall output, was the one to gain a Bowler of the Week bonus courtesy of Jay Bengco who rolled the high series of 707 on lines of 210, 221 and 231.
Bengco was actually at the helm of a five-man Orient rotation, and he was followed by Sami Al Qarni 641, Edwin Ronquillo 568, Danny Bautista 558 and Elo Manalo 517.
The duo of Archie Santos and Cris Villavelez bowled big on 635 and 614 for Bowling City, which won the first two games only to fade in the third game to sixth place for mere 4 points out of the maximum 9.
Pancho Cuevas added 596 and Frank Afurong made 560 to go with the 160-150 by Ruben Grino and 204 by Francis Guron.
Unlike Bowling City and Orient, which each had two first-place finishes in the four-phase race, Sarawat banked on its consistency to get in the mix as it went second-second in the first two games and third-third in Game 3 and overall output.
Taking charge at Sarawat was Mohd Amri who drilled 637. Gerry Mandanas and Alex Flora tossed in 561 and 544, while with two games each were team captain Igna Salgado 189-200, Rene Punzaan 166-148 and Paolo Allego 181-212.
Over at Habagat the trio of Edu Toledo, Edris Mangoda and Ruel Santoc led the scoring on 572, 556 and 518. Manny Tibay, Med Ramos and Jun de Dios each bowled two games of 162-200, 167-177 and 178-164.
