KAUST triumphs in IDB soccer tourney

JEDDAH: King Abdullah University of Science and Technology (KAUST) got the better of International Islamic Relief Organization Saudi Arabia (IIROSA) 5-3 in a thrilling final to emerge champions in the Intra Bank football tournament, at the Bank’s Green Lawn’s ground, here.
The tournament was held on the occasion of IDB’s 40th anniversary celebrations and organized by the Islamic Corporation for the Development of the Private Sector (ICD).
The CEO of ICD and other dignitaries from international organizations were present during the final, during which KAUST were awarded the winner’s trophy. All participating teams were given certificates.
Dr. Ahmad Mohamed Ali, president of the IDB Group had kicked-off the tourney earlier this month.
Islamic Corporation for the Development of the Private Sector (ICD), IDB (Islamic Development Bank), KAUST (King Abdullah University of Science and Technology), OIC (Organization of Islamic Cooperation) and WAMY (World Assembly of Muslim Youth were the teams which took part in this event.
