Health violations at EP bakeries

Health inspectors of the Eastern Province Municipality have discovered 2,299 violations at bakeries in the region.
The campaign, which included 419 bakeries in Dammam, Alkhobar and Dhahran, revealed several violations including workers not having health certificates. Many also did not know how to deal with food and keep their equipment clean.
The municipality said that inspection teams targeted 62 percent of the bakeries in the province. Only 59 bakeries met the country’s health standards, which was 17 percent of the total.
The municipality also stated that many of the bakeries were in buildings unsuitable for the industry and were likely to contaminate the baked products.
