Skype is bringing its platform into the simplest way where someone could able to use it as friendly as any technology available today. “Street Wise Tech” lists some of the new features Skype has put in:
See more emoticons on your Skype: Skypes offer more emoticons, and has a default of at least 72 available funny and cool faces. You can add more fun using more emoticons while chatting with your friends and family. Your Chatting experience will be more interesting. To add an emoticon, there are a few codes to type; try to include the: (Skype), (mooning), (soccer), (Fubar), (Smoking), and a lot more. These codes will automatically shift to emoticons once typed and entered.
Freezing your emoticons: You can hold your emoticon’s animation if you don’t like it to look animated. You can simply go to the tools, then click option and choose IM&SMS, followed by the IM appearance. At the option, uncheck the animate emoticon and voila, you can now have frozen emoticons.
Changing the size and style of your default emoticon front: You can modify the emoticon to your preference size. Just go from the tool menu; simply go to tools, then to option and choose IM&SMS followed by the IM appearance. You can change the font style, and size.
Changing the name of your contacts: Having many friends on Skype; some people sharing the same name in your contacts. At your contacts, hold your mouse over the name; then click on the paper icon to change the name.
Edit messages using keyboard shortcut: You can edit the messages that you have sent; or the message you sent last. This is a Skype trick allows you to edit the incomplete messages you sent out. To edit and resend the messages, press the UP arrow on the keyboard. The message will appear and you can change and resend.
Deleting messages and alternating to edit messages: If you create a wrong message and don’t want it to appear on the chat screen, you simply delete it; this is an alternative for editing your messages. Or you can simply press the right-click; on the sent message and click edit or delete whether you change your message or erase.
Setting up alert notification for significant chats only: Every time you received messages on Skype you get a notification in the task bar. If you see too many notifications, you can customize it; allowing for important messages only. Go into Conversation then click Notification Settings. Choose the most important words to be notified of used messages.
