JEDDAH: The General Presidency of the Commission for the Promotion of Virtue and Prevention of Vice has carefully selected a number of qualified and experienced members, and a number of qualified translators from among Saudi university students, and has provided them with training courses in how to deal with pilgrims and visitors.
The Vice President of the Commission Abdulrahman bin Mehenna Al-Jihani said that it has prepared a complete plan to provide awareness and guidance during the upcoming Hajj season.
Al-Jihani confirmed that the General Presidency issued a guide to the members, and that the guide included methods to raise awareness, provide guidance, and the best way of working on the ground.
It also included guidelines regarding the behavior and manners expected from members when welcoming pilgrims, in addition to greetings in 17 languages with which pilgrims can be welcomed.
Al-Jihani added that 43 guidance centers and distribution points have been prepared in Makkah and its surrounding areas, Madinah, the pilgrim’s city in Al-Qassim, and along the Al-Wadiah border crossing. They are equipped with audio and visual material designed to increase knowledge in 15 languages.
The presidency also used technology to educate and inform pilgrims through the app for smartphones “Mabroor,” an electronic page on the presidency’s website called “Zaad Al-Haajj,” and interactive platforms.
