ABU DHABI:  A future papal visit may include Saudi Arabia, leading religious figures told Arab News on Sunday.

“We consider it a global model, so it can be adopted and implemented elsewhere,” said Dr. Sultan Faisal Al-Remeithi, secretary-general of the Muslim Council of Elders.

The Catholic Apostolic Vicar of Northern Arabia, Bishop Camillo Ballin, also hoped for a papal tour. “There are many Catholics in Northern Arabia,” he said.
