DUBAI: More than 500 US troops returned to bases in northeast Syria after President Donald Trump’s withdrawal decision earlier this month, the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights reported on Monday.

The observatory said it witnessed the arrival of 85 vehicles carrying military equipment through the Al-Waleed border crossing.

The Sarin airport in Syria’s city of Kobani had also witnessed - in the past five days - the landing of multiple US planes.

The troops’ move to Syria came after Trump’s announcement of the death of Daesh leader Abu Bakr Al-Baghdadi on Sunday in US-raid attack in Syria.
