JEDDAH: The municipalities of Jeddah and its affiliated governorates closed 40 commercial establishments found to be in violation of the precautionary measures in place to combat the pandemic. The violations were detected through 7,469 inspection rounds conducted during the past two days to follow up on compliance with the measures.
The field teams found 60 violations, among which were failures to comply with social distancing, wear face masks correctly, measure the temperature of customers and use the Tawakkalna application.
The municipality called on visitors to markets and public places to adhere to the instructions and preventive health measures to limit the spread of the virus.
Municipalities in the Kingdom have stepped up their efforts to ensure compliance with COVID-19 safety measures designed to protect public health.
The Eastern Province municipality recently carried out 1,160 inspection tours across shopping malls, commercial centers and stores. These checks resulted in the closure of one commercial outlet, while 28 violators were given penalties for ignoring health regulations.
Asir municipality also carried out 690 inspection tours across food facilities, shops and markets.
