RIYADH: Saudi pharmaceutical firm Jamjoom Pharma has confirmed the launch of a new factory in Egypt, as it eyes expanding its exports to newer markets in Africa.
The announcement was made during the signing ceremony of partnership between Egypt and Saudi Arabia on Tuesday, Daily News Egypt reported.
Jamjoom Pharma — which has been operating in Saudi Arabia for 25 years — wants to make Egypt its regional center for exporting to African countries over the next three years, revealed the company's vice president Mahmoud Youssef.
He further noted that the operation of this new factory with three production lines will begin in another two months, after obtaining the operation license from the Egyptian Medicines Authority.
Youssef added that the company aims to have 30 products in the first year, with a plan to increase this number to 70 in the second year, focusing on ophthalmology, dermatology, and antibiotics.
