JEDDAH, 17 April — Saudi Arabia urged both Arab and international communities to support the Palestinian cause against the blatant Israeli aggression and to strive for establishing the legitimate rights of the Palestinian people.
“The brutal repression will only add to the Palestinians’ persistence and determination to establish an independent Palestinian state on their national soil as well as regaining all their legitimate rights according to relevant international resolutions,” Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Fahd said while addressing the weekly meeting of the Council of Ministers at Al-Salam palace here yesterday.
In a statement to the Saudi Press Agency after the Cabinet meeting, Information Minster Fuad Abdul Salam Al-Farsi said the king briefed the Council on his consultations, contacts and correspondence with several world leaders on the current situation in the Middle East, particularly on the Palestinian issue, and other important international developments.
King Fahd also reaffirmed the importance of compliance with the instructions given by the Ministries of Agriculture and Water and Industry and Electricity on the judicious use of water and electricity by both the citizens and expatriate residents, Al-Farsi said in his statement.
The information minister said the Cabinet also decided to authorize the justice minister or his deputy to discuss and sign an agreement with Azerbaijan regarding judicial cooperation between the two countries.
