DAMMAM, 19 April — Dr. Ibrahim Al-Mutrif, secretary-general of the Eastern Province Chamber of Commerce and Industry, has been conferred the Legion of Honor Award by the World Association for Small and Medium Enterprises (WASME). The award which consists of medal, a citation and a plaque, will be presented to him at the 12th International Conference of SMEs to be held in Turkey on Wednesday, according to chamber officials. Al-Mutrif has been selected for the award in recognition of the services he rendered to strengthen the SMEs in the region. WASME with members and associates in 112 countries is dedicated to promote small- and medium-scale establishments on a global basis. It is the only international non-governmental organization enjoying consultative status with the United Nations Industrial Development Organization and UNCTAD.
