AHSA, 21 April — Five people were killed and several others injured in traffic accidents in different parts of the country last week, press reports said yesterday.
Three members of a Saudi family died in a head-on collision on the Ahsa-Salwa Road.
In another accident involving three cars and a truck, a Saudi died and three others were critically injured in the Jizan region. The accident occurred on the Al-Darb-Bisha Road.
Rescuers had to cut open the mangled remains of a car to extricate the dead body. The injured are admitted to Al-Darb General Hospital.
In Baha, a Saudi died after being run over by a speeding car. The man and his wife were crossing the road. Security officials arrested the driver shortly afterward.
On Tuesday, a petrol tanker overturned near Aflaj, but the driver escaped miraculously without injuries.
