RIYADH, 11 May  — Security authorities in Saudi Arabia have information about those behind a bomb attack that seriously wounded an American doctor, Deputy Interior Minister Prince Ahmad said on Wednesday.

In a press briefing following a graduation ceremony at the Institute of the Border Guard, Prince Ahmad said “We have information that should enable us, God willing, to find those who are responsible for this incident.”

Prince Ahmad observed that the stable and prosperous life in the Kingdom attracted a large number of people to come here and enjoy both security and stability.

Cross-border smuggling and illegal border crossings posed a threat to the Kingdom’s peace, the prince said. He praised the efforts of the Border Guards and Al-Mujahideen Division in fighting the two evils. He commended citizens’ cooperation in the matter.

With regard to the illegal border crossings from Yemen to Saudi territories after the signing of the security agreement between the two countries, Prince Ahmad said: “The number of crossings are increasing, but we hope to bring the matter under control in cooperation with our brothers in Yemen.”

On a question on the murder case of a Saudi student Abdul Aziz Al-Koohaji in the United States, the prince said the case is subjudice and “there is no justification for the suspect in this case to remain in the US as this case relates to Saudis. Moreover, it is a ‘one-off’ case which does not harm the US nor any other agency there. It is entirely a Saudi case. We are doing our best to bring back the suspect currently in the US to the Kingdom.”
