BOSTON , 14 May — Interior Minister Prince Naif urged Saudi students in the United States to be good Muslims and worthy ambassadors of their country.

Addressing a meeting of Saudi students in various American universities assembled at the Saudi Students Club in Boston, Prince Naif emphasized their role in serving the nation and the society. The prince explained to them the importance of Saudization.

“The citizen is, obviously, more entitled to get a job in his own country as every Saudi should find employment,” the prince said.

He made it clear that the nationalization of jobs is not directed against anyone. On the other hand, a Saudi has every right to lead an honorable life in his own country.

“However, competition from expats in the job market makes it difficult for the Saudi youth to get job for the apparent reason that the expat, who takes lesser pay, is willing to work longer obediently and without protest,” the prince said.

The prince pointed out that the Saudization program would help the country financially, stemming a huge drain on the Saudi economy, and will also spare the society the negative effects on its culture following the presence of seven million foreigners amid it.

“In return, the Saudi citizen should really prove that he is capable, skilled and punctual and, that he respects work and the contract between him and the employer,” the prince said.

Commenting on the research students’ difficulty in getting required information and statistics from some agencies in the Kingdom, the prince affirmed that there should not be any obstacle in research students gaining access to the information they require.
