DAMMAM/JEDDAH, 29 May — Students of the International Indian School, Dammam (IISD) once again excelled their counterparts in Jeddah and Riyadh at the higher secondary school examinations held by the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) in New Delhi.
Results declared yesterday showed that the Dammam school, with a 97.6 percent success rate, performed better than the Riyadh and Jeddah schools. However, Farah Rahman Khan of the Riyadh school was the top-scorer with 91.8 percent marks.
At the Dammam school, Bipin John Thomas and S. Zahid Ali shared the first position with 89 percent marks while Melisa D’Souza stood second. In all, 167 students appeared for the exams at the Dammam school and only four failed.

Dr. S.V.R. Rao, IISD managing committee chairman, congratulated the students and the school principal and teachers on their achievement. He said the results were a manifestation of teachers devotion and commitment. Principal Muhammad Anwar also congratulated the students and teachers and said there was always room for improvement.

Twenty students scored more than 80 percent. Six students had abstained from taking the exams after they were detained by the school due to poor performance in internal evaluation. There were no absentees at the Dammam school.
