JEDDAH, 16 January — The Saudi Telecom Company has announced plans to hold an auction on Wednesday offering two exclusive mobile telephone numbers 05333333 and 05444444 respectively.
The bidding will start at SR100,000 and interested parties are requested to mail their checks or submit a bank statement guaranteeing their bid.
All requests should be mailed to the sales manager at the Saudi Telecom Company in Mursalaat district in Riyadh.
The announcement also said the successful bidder would be informed personally. The STC also said the successful bidder would not be allowed to withdraw his offer once the auction was complete.
The STC is auctioning these two numbers because of their uniqueness. Similar numbers will be available only after the distribution of another one million mobile numbers.
The demand for such special numbers is high as they are easy to remember. Special mobiles numbers are those numbers that repeat two numbers or more.
