King congratulates Khatami on victory

JEDDAH, 11 June — Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Fahd congratulated Iran’s President Muhammad Khatami on his re-election, saying it was an endorsement of his reformist policy. “The unanimous message by the majority of the Iranian people was a clear sign of love and support for your excellency to continue the process of reforms and progress,” the king said in a message to the president.
In their messages, Crown Prince Abdullah, deputy premier and commander of the National Guard, and Prince Sultan, second deputy premier and minister of defense and aviation, wished more progress and prosperity for the people of Iran under Khatami’s leadership. (SPA)
