JEDDAH, 26 June — The council for developing health services in the Makkah region met here yesterday and reviewed the efforts to train and employ Saudis in the health sector. The meeting chaired by Makkah Governor Prince Abdul Majeed also discussed a plan to hold an open debate with relevant government officials, businessmen and media persons on Wednesday. It called for setting up consultative committees for all medical specialties at hospitals in the region. Prince Abdul Majeed will pay a visit to major hospitals in Makkah, Jeddah and Taif, beginning next Monday. In another development, the Makkah governor will inaugurate the Taif tourism festival tomorrow. A vast area has been developed at the western gate of Taif for staging the inaugural ceremony.
