JEDDAH, 29 September — Many of the latest medical technologies were unveiled during a health care show inaugurated here last Wednesday.

The King Faisal Specialist Hospital and Research Center, which has introduced the latest health technology to the Kingdom, is exhibiting its novel Health Gulf program at the show.

The program, developed after two years of research by KFSH, gives all physicians around the country access to modern science and technology.

KFSH was the main sponsor of the first e-health 2001 conference in Jeddah last May, which was participated in by over 50 world class international speakers, 750 professionals and 35 corporate sponsors and exhibitors.

Health Gulf’s e-learning service allows continuous education to nursing staff and allied medical professionals, said Ali Al-Sanousi, general manager of the e-health international at KFSH. Professionals can seek information such as those on drug interactions online while using the program.

The second area is the patient’s care or diagnostic services via an e-consult program.

Any digital instrument can be hooked to this portal and highly qualified consultants will be available to answer patients’ questions and concerns.

Alseha.com is the most active component of Health Gulf. It contains extensive information from pediatric to geriatric healthcare in Arabic. The surfer can also find the latest news relating to diseases, nutrition, alternative medicine and new technology at Alseha.com.

Besides, its e-commerce page provides prospective clients an internal purchasing system. The KFSH is also displaying its home care service available round the clock.
