SAN DIEGO, California, 4 October — A dentist of Syrian origin said Khalid Al-Mihdar, one of the alleged terrorists who hijacked the American Airlines Flight No. 77 and smashed on to the Pentagon building on Sept. 11, was his patient. The FBI officials, who took away the treatment file of the suspect from the clinic, asked the doctor about his relationship with Al-Mihdar.
“The man used to visit me regularly while he was staying with his two other accomplices in the attack, Nawaf Al-Hazmi and Hani Al-Hanjour in the Park Wood apartments close to my clinic,” Dr. Saaduddin Al-Tarabishi told Arab News on Tuesday.
“The FBI men wanted particularly to know how long I treated Al-Mihdar. I told them that I did not remember because he was just one of several patients who frequented my clinic,” Al-Tarabishi said.
The dentist did not answer a question about the nature of treatment the alleged terrorist received.
However, the doctor said the FBI men took the photocopy of his case file and gave him the originals back.
On a question if the man brought along any of his friends with him when he visited the clinic, the doctor replied, “In fact I don’t remember at all. I, as any other doctor, don’t care who comes with the patient or who brought him to the clinic. I focus always on the patient.”
