Expat plucks out own eye

JEDDAH, 10 October — An expat patient in a mental hospital in Madinah bit off his tongue and plucked out his eye with a sharp instrument. The man had removed his eye on an earlier occasion, using a plastic knife. Emergency surgery saved his eyesight on that occasion. However, the patient repeated the horrible act and the second time attempts by the doctors to give him back his eyesight failed.
