RIYADH, 22 October — The 20th Agriculture, Irrigation and Agricultural Industries Exhibition will reflect a shift in the Kingdom’s agricultural strategy with more stress on the diversification of agricultural products.

Thirty-five companies from Holland will participate in the exhibition in Riyadh, to open on Oct. 28.

The increased Dutch presence in it is expected to strengthen the Kingdom’s relations with Holland in the agricultural sector in general and in the field of poultry farming in particular. The participating Dutch companies will represent manufacturers of veterinary medicine, chicken feed, slaughtering machines and the latest machinery for beef and chicken meat processing.

Several government officials, experts and researchers in the field of agriculture and poultry farming from Holland will also attend the event.

The exhibition will hopefully lead to an increase in the transfer of technology and business investment from Holland.

The Kingdom is currently importing huge quantities of poultry products from various countries. The participants in the exhibition will also display technology for breeding low-cholesterol chickens with immunity to bacteria.

More than 300 companies from 22 countries will participate in the exhibition, which is expected to attract 50,000 visitors from the GCC countries.
