Sheraton Jeddah launches renovation plan

JEDDAH, 24 October — Saudi Brothers Company, which owns the five-star Sheraton Jeddah Hotel & Resorts, has announced a major renovation investment for the 202-room property at the Corniche. “Over SR20 million will be invested in the renovation of the property,” Ayman A. Darandary, PR manager at the hotel, told a press conference recently. He said the renovation plan would continue for six months, which would also address the upgrading of all major areas, including the lobby, room interiors, furnishings and restaurants. The 11-year-old landmark property, which was built by an Italian engineering firm, would now provide additional restaurants and entertainment activities for guests, said Darandary whose new slogan is: “Take the right way, take the Sheraton way.” According to him, “it’s not a mere slogan but every detail of guest needs will be taken care of and provided under the new plan.” The 11 storied property has 18 deluxe rooms, eight superior rooms, 10 executive suites, 12 diplomatic suites, 10 Amiri suites, two royal suites, 51 club level rooms, 10 family apartments, eight luxury apartments, 17 chalets and 22 villas in its main building, Nakheel executive wing, Loa-Loa wing, Atallah Apartments, Red sea Resort, Al-Saheel Beach Resort & Marina, and Sheraton Village Resort. All rooms and suites enjoy spectacular views of the Red Sea and the picturesque Corniche, and are equipped with Jacuzzis, aside from satellite channels and other facilities. Aside from its Al-Waha dining restaurant, Tropical Gardens nestled in lush gardens serving daily BBQ and Mediterranean food, and Xian-Gong Chinese restaurant, the hotel’s other facilities include extensive recreational facilities and guest facilities including an executive business center, and a banquet and conference center.
