Elevator company fined SR7,000

MADINAH, 24 October — Madinah Governor Prince Muqrin has ordered a lift company to pay a fine of SR7,000 and the manager of a building where a Saudi was killed after falling from the lift to be jailed for seven days. The company has been fined because it did not do the necessary maintenance work to keep the lift in good working order. The manager was punished for hiring unqualified persons to repair the lift.
