RIYADH, 25 October — Lucent Technologies has awarded a SR54 million contract to Advanced Electronics Company (AEC) for in-Kingdom manufacturing of Printed Circuit Boards (PCBs) and the testing and integration of switching cabinets.
This was announced by Michael C. Craft, president, Lucent Technologies International Inc., Saudi Arabian Branch, who said the PCBs will be used in Lucent Technologies’ sophisticated switching and transmission equipment for the implementation of Saudi Telecom Co.’s (STC) recently announced Telephone Expansion Projects. “Lucent is delighted to continue to work with Advanced Electronics Company,” Craft said.
“AEC has implemented significant contracts for Lucent in the past (totaling over SR1.41 billion) and has demonstrated its capabilities as one of our Grade A suppliers. This agreement is another example of our commitment to support the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia’s offset interests in the development and expansion of the telecommunications Industry in Saudi Arabia,” he added.
AEC is a Saudi Economic Offset Company that Lucent has worked with in the past.
